Shammi Jalandhari is a poet and lyricist and always want to bring peace between India and Pakistan. Shammi and his friend Basharat Sami who is also a poet from Pakistan. Both having the same passion for poetry. They are living in Australia and they both believes that there will always be something that unities the two neighboring nations. In 2011, on New Year Shammi and his friend Basharat organizes an event the “Indo-Pak Mushaira” supported by the whole Ahmadiya Muslim and Indian Community and the goal behind this event is to share poetry and fond memories of their land. Shammi is the leading member of the “Mushaira Council of Australia” along with his very close Pakistani friend and fellow poet, Mr Basharat Sami. Shammi is also the fan of Pakistani singers and used to listen Coke Studio and he also share his thoughts about if he get a chance of visiting Pakistan than it will be a great moment for him and he never miss this chance. Shammi Jalandhari said, “India and Pakistan may be separate nations but it doesn’t mean that people from both sides of border shouldn’t be close socially and culturally.”
