Capital Smart Motors (CSM), a flagship project of HRL Engineering and official partner of Geely Auto Group in Pakistan, is set to make a game-changing $125 million investment in establishing a state-of-the-art CKD (Completely Knocked Down) assembly plant within the Smart Special Economic Zone near Lahore. This forward-looking plant will be geared toward the production of both passenger vehicles and commercial trucks and buses, emphasizing electric mobility solutions that support sustainable transportation.

The upcoming facility is expected to feature high-tech assembly lines capable of handling multiple vehicle platforms. Products will include advanced models such as the Geely RIDDARA RD6 EV Truck and the Dongfeng FORTHING Friday, designed with impressive ranges of up to 1,150 kilometers per charge—optimizing performance for long-haul operations while avoiding fossil fuel dependency.
Aligned with Pakistan’s Electric Vehicle Policy and Vision 2030, this investment aims to position Punjab as a regional hub for EV manufacturing. The facility is projected to generate thousands of direct and indirect jobs, stimulating innovation and providing a roadmap for the local automotive industry’s electrification. In addition, CSM is committing to the development of a nationwide EV charging network to support adoption and infrastructure readiness.
This ambitious investment underscores CSM’s leadership in accelerating Pakistan’s transition toward eco-friendly transport solutions, building manufacturing capacity, and fostering industrial modernization.
