ICC admits New York pitches at T20 World Cup not up to the mark

The cricket pitches at the T20 World Cup matches in New York haven’t been good enough, according to the International Cricket Council (ICC). They’re not providing the right conditions for batting, making it hard for players to score runs. The ground staff are working to fix the problem for the rest of the tournament.

At the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium, where two games have already been played, the pitches have caused low scores. Sri Lanka and India both struggled to score well in their matches against South Africa and Ireland. Fans were disappointed because they expected more exciting games with lots of runs.

The ICC and T20 Inc, the organizers, admit that the pitches haven’t been consistent. They say the stadium’s grounds team is working hard to make sure the pitches are better for the upcoming matches.

There are still six more matches scheduled at the stadium, including a big game between India and Pakistan on Sunday.

India’s batting coach, Vikram Rathour, said the pitch was tough to play on. He thinks India has the skills and experience to handle it, though.
