Sheldon Maschler (born 1944 in Poland) also known as Shelly Maschler is a former financial professional and chief of Datek Securities Corp., Island ECN. He was one of the few traders that impacted 80s Wall Street through Small Order Execution System (SOES).

Sheldon was born in Poland during the war. His parents were able to move to America after living in a Displaced Persons Camp in Hamburg, Germany. They lived with Eli’s (Sheldon’s Father) brother in Brooklyn.

Growing up was hard for Sheldon as he faced several challenges along the way. He started working after few years at Met Life for few dollars and later became member of the Army reserves. Eventually, he found his way back to Wall Street, and while no one could have predicted, his influence and impact would forever change business-as-usual for America’s big money movers and shakers.
