Lee Wen-yi, a 24-year-old aspiring writer, is set to make her mark in the global book world thanks to the Covid-19 lockdowns. During this time, she poured her emotions of sadness and loss into writing.

Her young adult novel, titled “The Dark We Know,” will be published on August 13. It caught the attention of famous American author Gillian Flynn, known for bestsellers like “Gone Girl,” which was made into a popular movie.

Lee, who works full-time as a project manager in Singapore’s publishing industry, shared that she secured a substantial book deal with Gillian Flynn Books for her debut novel. Although she didn’t reveal specific details about the deal, she’s excited about the upcoming release.
