The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced the match schedule for the highly anticipated Pakistan Men’s Test Series against England, set to take place in October 2024. The three-match series will form part of the ICC World Test Championship 2023-25 and marks England’s second visit to Pakistan within two years.
The tour kicks off with the First Test in Multan from October 7 to 11. The teams will then head to Karachi for the Second Test, scheduled from October 15 to 19. The series concludes with the Third Test in Rawalpindi from October 24 to 28.
During their last visit in December 2022, England achieved a remarkable 3-0 series victory, delivering thrilling performances. Richard Gould, Chief Executive Officer of the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), expressed his excitement about the upcoming series, stating, “We’re really excited to be returning to Pakistan for this three-match Men’s Test tour in October. Our last Men’s Test tour of Pakistan produced some memorable matches, and I’m sure fans can look forward to more exciting cricket across this forthcoming series.
“The PCB’s announcement comes as part of a bumper home season for the Pakistan men’s team in 2024-25. The schedule includes a two-match Test series against Bangladesh in August, followed by the England tour. Pakistan will also host West Indies for two Tests in January 2025 and a rare ODI tri-series featuring New Zealand and South Africa in February, serving as a precursor to the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025.
Pakistan’s international calendar for 2024 is packed, with the team set to play ten Tests, nine ODIs, and 25 T20Is, excluding the ICC Men’s T20I World Cup scheduled for June 1 to 29. The team will also tour Australia, Zimbabwe, and South Africa in the November-December period, with the tour spilling over into January 2025.
The upcoming England tour promises to be a thrilling affair, with both teams looking to secure valuable points in the ICC World Test Championship. Fans can expect a fierce battle on the field as Pakistan seeks to avenge their previous series defeat and England aims to maintain their winning momentum in the subcontinent.
